Free As A Bird

Hello and Welcome!

It's Friday again Yaaaaay do you have great plans for the weekend? We are supposed to be wet all weekend so I'm going to stay close to home and get some stamping done.

Today I want to share with you some more on the Free As A Bird set. If you've been following me you may remember that I shared a peak of this set right after I attended Onstage last month. Well I got my order with this set in it on Monday and had a chance to play with just the stamp set. I wanted to show off how pretty this set is and so I stamped my images in Memento Black ink and colored them in using Stampin' Blends.

On this card I stamped a small flower image in so saffron ink on so saffron cardstock. I then added a piece of the matching designer series paper to the lower half of the card. they are little birdie foot prints hahahaha I then stamped my image on a piece of Shimmery White cardstock and colored it in using the Stampin' Blends Alcohol Markers. Once that was layered on the front I stamped the sentiment on a piece of scrap soft sea foam cardstock in early espresso ink and punched it out using the classic label punch. Now don't worry, I'll post at the bottom of this page what products I used and a link to them in my store. That way if you need to pick up anything you can just click on it.

This card was more of a clean look. I just took a base of Mossy Meadow cardstock and cut it to 4.25 x 11 and scored it at 5.5 to fold. I then used a piece of shimmery white cardstock and stamped the bird image the flower and a couple leaves in black and colored them in with the Blends. I cut out the flower and the leaves with my paper snips and set them aside. I stamped the sentiment on the bird piece and centered it on the card front eyeballing where I wanted to have the plain stamped leaves come out from behind. Once I had a good idea of where I wanted them I stamped them in mossy meadow and using stampin dimensionals I placed the bird over them centering as best I could. I then tucked in the cut out elements behind and stuck those down with mini dimensionals. I finished by stamping the sentiment at the bottom.

With this card I stepped it up a little more using the Layered Leaves embossing folder on the card base. I cut out the stamped image using the new Stitched Nested Labels that are in a bundle with this stamp set coming in the new catalog.

I took some of the braided linen trim and pulled it's layers apart to give that textured twine/nesty look LOL IDK it sounds good so go with it. LOL I stamped the sentiment a couple times on the soft sea foam like I did earlier only this time I stamped part of it and punched it out and then stamped the FRIENDS on a separate piece and punched it out. I tucked the trimmed ends behind the flowers that I stamped a cut out like before. Oh I also placed some enamel dots in the center of the flowers to make them pop. Lot's of visual texture on this.

I will be doing some more with this set because I haven't even really delved into the Designer Series Paper that goes with this....it's so pretty! But I'll get to that at a later date.

Hope you have enjoyed this look at the Free As A Bird stamp set that will be available June 4th so be looking for it. Thanks so much for stopping in today! Have an awesome weekend and HAPPY STAMPING....CAROL
