Hello and Welcome to this weeks Broke Stampers Unite Challenge. (a day late) Yes I got distracted and then behind and well here ya go. This weeks challenge is a color challenge. Real Red, Pink Pirouette, Basic Black and Whisper White.
You know, I just had to grab Petal Palette for this. This awesome DSP in this Suite with the black and white is just to die for and then add some red and pink....WOW right?
So here's what I did. I got myself all jacked up on caffeine this morning and went to work. LOL I started with a base of Real Red cardstock cut at 4.25 x 11 and scored at 5.5. I then grabbed this fun dot print from the Petal Passion Designer Series Paper pack I was going to layer it squarely on the Basic Black but then decided to canter it some. So it's the Read Red base then a piece of Basic Black cut to 4 x 5.25 and then I angled it on the red and trimmed the overhang. I squared up the piece of DSP cut at 3.75 x 5. I then stamped the floral image and colored it in with the Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Blends light and Dark. I didn't color in the leaves because well that color isn't in the challenge. LOL It still looks great uncolored though right? Yeah, I thought so. I cut it out with the matching framelits I then cut out the red branch element and the pink lacy element. For the sentiment I stamped the "I Just Love You" in basic black and cut it out with the label framelit in this set. I finished it off with a fun enamel shapes heart.
I'm pretty happy with how it came out. Yes it could pass for a Valentine's card but it could be used for everyday as well. I like that!
