Hello and Happy Sunday...
I was playing some with my neglected Annual Catalog sets and came up with this fun blue rose. This was all just and experiment of sorts and I can't really decide if I like it or not, but followed through with it anyway. Have you ever had a project that just wasn't coming out the way you envisioned? I really wanted this to come out as a gorgeous blue rose but I'm afraid I need to work on my Blending skills with larger images. We can't be perfect on everything we do right? LOL
I stamped my image in Tuxedo Black Momento ink and let it dry through. I then used the light and dark Night of Navy Stampin Blends to color in the rose. I mean it's not bad.....but I do think I need to practice more. I then used the Light and Dark Old Olive for the leaves. I do love how they came out. I then took an Aqua Painter that I filled with Alcohol and picked up ink from my ink pad lid and tapped it on my finger over my project to get a nice splattered effect. I delved into my bag of old tricks and pulled out some glassy glaze and made dew drops on the rose.
I then stamped my sentiment in Night of Navy and cut it out with the matching Thinlits to this set. Rose Wonder stamp set #140697 and Rose Garden #140619
I inked the edges of the label with Night of Navy ink. I finished the whole card off with a bow of Night of Navy crinkled seem binding ribbon #144189
